We are looking for a passionate team member to join our Safeguarding team at UHB. We are keen to utilise skills and knowledge to gain the best outcomes for our children and young people accessing all our services and their families.The post holder will be required to:*Delivery of specialist advice, support and supervision to staff throughout the organisation.*Development and delivery of the safeguarding education programme*Completion of audit and review of safeguarding arrangements in line with governance requirements.*Participation in development, review and promotion of safeguarding policies.*Participation in appropriate information sharing processed to support safeguarding of children as supported within the legal framework of the Children Act 1989.Main duties of the jobThe candidate will be able to ensure sound advice is available on the day-to-day management of children and families where there are safeguarding children concerns.The post holder will work with a range of key professionals to contribute to the on-going development and delivery of services designed to protect children and young people from harm and promote their welfare through safeguarding processes.To support and advise other professionals on health issues relating to the safeguarding risk assessment of children.To actively participate in strategy meetings and professional discussions in keeping with statutory processes.To maintain accurate and contemporaneous records of all involvement in safeguarding cases in line with Trust policy and guidance.To participate in specific working groups to achieve targets, objectives and audits in relation to Safeguarding Children.To utilise the Trust IT systems in accordance with local standards and agreements.Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal codes of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and Trust’s protocol and guidelines.
