We are looking for aPostdoc in molecular biology and microbiologyWhere to apply WebsiteRequirementsSpecific RequirementsYour personal sphere of play:The Unit of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Vienna is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with a background in molecular biology and biochemistry. If you have experience with extremophilic Archaea, in particular their diverse defense systems, both in fundamental aspects as well as applications, we invite you to join our team and build your own research group! Our unit covers many aspects of Archaea Biology, both on the molecular biological, genomic and ecological level.   • You publish internationally
  • You supervise your students and build up your own research profile and funding
  • You actively interact with other members of the unit
  • You participate in teaching on bachelor and master level
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance

This is part of your personality:

  • PhD in biology, microbiology or biochemistry
  • Experience in Archaea research, including genomics and CRISPR-Cas systems
  • Proactive and eager to learn new methods and topics
  • Strong collaborative attitude in the lab
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C1)
  • Team player with strong social and communicative skills
  • Interest in teaching
