As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Solid State Physics, in the Research Unit of Complex Oxide Systems, TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: January 2025.Tasks:

  • Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
  • Cooperation and guidance of students
  • Research and project activity
  • Writing a dissertation and publications
  • Participation in scientific events
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in one of these fields: Physics, Chemistry and/or Materials Science
  • Skillful and responsible in experimental work
  • Experience in vacuum techniques, x-ray diffraction, transport and/or magnetism is advantageous
  • Knowledge in programming is useful
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory, good skills in German preferred
  • Interest in research in the field as well as supervision and work with students
  • Very good communicative skills and team competences and innovative ability
